Novice to C

To apply for our Novice to Cat C course you must hold a CAT B (Car) licence

A CAT C vehicle is the most common type of HGV, allowing drivers to drive vehicles over 3.5t but under 32 tons. You might also know a CAT C vehicle by the name ‘rigid lorry’ this is because the trailer is attached to the cab and cannot come off.

If you passed your CAT B licence in the UK before 1st January 1997 you have grandfather rights and will complete the 35 hours CPC.
If you passed after 1st January 1997, you do not have grandfather rights and will need to complete a Module 2 Theory test and Module 4.

Novice to C+E

To apply for our Novice to Cat C+E course you must hold a CAT B (Car) licence

A category C + E license is the most comprehensive HGV licence you can hold. With this licence, drivers can drive an articulated vehicle weighing over 32 tonnes.

If you passed your CAT B licence in the UK before 1st January 1997 you have grandfather rights and will complete the 35 hours CPC.
If you passed after 1st January 1997, you do not have grandfather rights and will need to complete a Module 2 Theory test and Module 4.
